Winterland 1/17 & 18/69
Catalog No. MSC-WIN.1969.01.17
This poster was used to advertise the first of two concerts at Winterland, which was the interim venue for the Family Dog after they ceased holding dances at the Avalon. The image is a considerable departure from the plain-looking, black-and-white posters used towards the end of the Avalon run, and features a photo of a pair of dressed-up dogs. The poster is quite large and the handbill has an advertisement on the back, both for the relocation from the Avalon, and also to sell sets of posters — approximately 140 for $50!
The original poster was printed on white stock and measures approximately 1⅞″ x 27⅛.
The original handbill was printed on white stock and measures approximately 3″ x 8″.
There is also a double card of FD-690117 and FD-690124. These were printed on white stock and measure approximately 6″ x 8″.
