This poster was designed by Linda Segul to promote the 1969 Northern California Folk-Rock Festival.

The lineup at the festival was extraordinary. The featured acts were The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Led Zeppelin, Jefferson Airplane, Chambers Brothers, Eric Burdon, Spirit, and many, many others. What a show it must have been!

This is the only poster we have ever seen that features Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin on the same bill. We would like to know of any other shows that featured both performers.

In mid 2011, a rumor circulated that around 1000-1500 of these had showed up in the LA area. We have had the chance to examine some copies from this stash and can say without hesitation that they are fake. They are printed on the wrong paper (.065" vs .090" for the original) and have very mushy detail. The easiest way to tell is by looking at the word "Tickets" in the lower left corner - simply note the length of the word in comparison to the words "City Ramblers" by clicking the tumbnail in the "Bootleg" poster section below and comparing it to the photo of the original. The quailty of these is actually pretty poor but seems to be good enough that it has fooled one dealer and one collector.

 The posters we offer were obtained from Bob Blodgett, the promoter of the show. He has guaranteed that he has not reprinted the poster, and the rarity would bear this out.

This original poster was printed on white stock and measures approximately 14″ x 20″.

The original handbill was printed on silver foil and measures approximately 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″.
