The Village Gate, Greenwich Village, NY 10/4/66

The Village Gate was a club at the corner of Bleeker and Thompson streets in Greenwich Village that opened in 1958. The October 4-16, 1966 engagement was the Byrd's first nightclub appearance in New York, as well as the Village Gate's first booking of a rock band. This handbill is very rare and this is the first example we have handled.

The original handbill was printed on thin paper and measures approximately 5½” x 8½”.
