Columbia County Fairgrounds, St. Helens, OR 8/21-23/69
Catalog No. MSO-SHO.1969.08.21
Bullfrog 2 was a festival planned for August 21-23, 1969 at the Columbia County Fairgrounds in St. Helens, Oregon. Right before the festival began, the County Fair board reneged on the contract, and the festival was cancelled. The hundreds of concert-goers who had come to town began assembling in the town square, protesting peacefully. Eventually, Mrs. Melvina Pelletier offered her property in the Happy Hollow area of Yankton for a place to hold the event, which became known as Bullfrog 3. The Grateful Dead played on August 23 and many local bands took part in the festivities.
The original handbill was printed on thin pink paper and measures approximately 4” x 6”.
