Promotional Poster 1/1/96

Alton Kelley designed this promotional poster commemorating the Grateful Dead’s debut album. It reads “In the land of the dark, the ship of the sun is drawn by the Grateful Dead” in gold lettering. The poster was printed in an edition of 25,000 numbered copies, while the proof sheet was printed in an edition of 2,500 signed and numbered copies.

The original poster was printed on white stock and measures approximately 29¾” x 14 ¾“.
