This poster, known as “Sin Dance,” was only printed one time, probably because the shows were canceled. The central image of the woman is taken from a late 19th or early 20th century painting named “Die Suende,” or “Sin,” by an artist named Franz Von Stuck. This image was used several more times in the Family Dog series, notably on numbers FD-17 and FD-17A.

As with many of the early Family Dog posters, this number is occasionally available in top condition for the patient collector. Since no second print posters were made, the original prints can be somewhat expensive, but we believe they represent good value in today’s market.

The original poster was printed on white vellum stock and measures approximately 14″ x 20″.

The original handbill measures approximately 5″ x 8″ and is printed on thin white paper in black ink.

There is also a forgery of the handbill that was printed circa 1980. This is identified by the letters “We” in Wes Wilson being one mass of ink, instead of the separated letters found on the original.
