Catalog No. BG-56

This poster for Moby Grape, The Chambers Brothers, and The Charlatans was printed using a “split fountain” technique. The colors are pink, pink to orange, orange to blue, and blue, on a field of black. Because hippies tended to be fascinated by things related to Native Americans, it is no surprise that the psychedelic artists often employed Native American imagery. The bold and striking nature of Native American imagery from the Northwest was readily adaptable to psychedelic interpretation, as Wes Wilson did here with this mask.

The original poster was printed on white index stock and measures approximately 13¾″ x 21″.

The postcard comes in three varieties, all of which measure approximately 5″ x 7½″. Since the cards were printed alongside the posters, there are three different colored cards for each different type. One card is lavender; one is pink; and one card is blue.

The Type A card has a “place stamp here” reverse.

The Type B card has a bulk rate permit on the back.

The Type C card has a bulk rate permit on the back, and was addressed and sent to people on the mailing list.
