Avalon Ballroom 12/16-17/66

This was the first Family Dog poster by Mouse and Kelley that eliminated the white border surrounding the design. The central image is an Indian with a tomahawk and a Mohawk haircut surrounded by a colorful zigzag pattern.

The original poster was printed on vellum and measures approximately 13″ x 20″. The notation “The Bindweed Press San Francisco” appears in the lower left margin.

The second print poster was printed on uncoated index stock and measures approximately 14″ x 20″. The notation “No. 39” appears in the lower right corner and the Bindweed credit has been deleted.

The original handbill comes in two types; both were printed on thin paper and measure approximately 8″ x 11″:

Type A was printed on white paper and has the same image as the poster; and

Type B was printed on white paper, but the blue ink run was omitted, making it only yellow and red.
