Stuttgart, Germany 1/15/69

This is one of the most sought-after images in the poster-collecting field. Gunther Kieser created this masterpiece for a January 19, 1969 performance in Stuttgart, Germany. The original poster carries the correct concert date of January 19, 1969 in the lower portion, while the merchandise posters carry an incorrect date of January 15 (Hendrix was in Berlin that day). Due to the tremendous popularity of this image, it has been printed at least four times and bootlegged several more. The originals are excessively rare and command well over $15,000, even for a damaged copy.

There are three authorized reprints done by Artrock :

One was an offset lithograph that was printed on white stock and measure approximately 25 ½" x 36". These were printed in a signed and numbered edition of 500 pieces.

The second was also an offset lithograph that was printed on white stock. These are usually seen in uncut form and measure approximately 35" x 49". As with the others, these were issued in a signed and numbered edition of 500 pieces.

The other Artrock reprint is a silk screen that was printed on thick white stock and measures approximately 27 ½" x 38". These were printed in a limited edition of 500 signed and numbered pieces. Many believe that this poster looks better than the originals!
