Avalon Ballroom 10/15-16/66

With a central image of actress and movie star Gloria Swanson covered by a lace veil, this poster is captivating. Made in a limited press run of 3,000 copies, there are two varieties. Printing records show that 2,000 copies were printed prior to the concert, and an additional 1,000 were printed shortly thereafter. It is unknown which ones are which, but all copies with the Bindweed credit are considered to be originals.

The original poster was printed on vellum and measures approximately 14″ x 20″. The notation “The Bindweed Press San Francisco” appears in the lower right corner. There are two types of these originals:

Type A has the words “Family Dog © 1966 Mouse! Studios” in medium-blue ink; and

Type B has the words “Family Dog © 1966 Mouse! Studios” in black ink.

The third print poster was printed on uncoated index stock and measures approximately 14″ x 20″. This poster bears the notation “No. 30-3” in the lower left corner.

The original handbill was printed on thin paper and measures approximately 8″ x 11″.
