Winterland ,Fillmore West 4/24 & 27/69
Catalog No. BG-170
Led Zeppelin was relatively unheard of in January 1969. By April of the same year, all that had changed and Zeppelin was headlining a four-day gig at both The Fillmore and Winterland. The Randy Tuten design was a bold departure from the normal concert poster. Apparently, the idea didn't go over all that well.
The original poster was printed on slick, glossy-coated index stock and measures approximately 13⅞″ x 20⅜″.
The second print poster was printed on slick, glossy-coated index stock and measures approximately 14″ x 21″.
The postcard comes in two varieties, both of which measure approximately 4⅝″ x 7″:
The Type A card has a “place stamp here” reverse.
The Type B card has a calendar of Bill Graham events on the back.
A double postcard was also printed. This card bears the images of both BG-170 and 171 and measures approximately 7″ x 9¼″. It has a bulk rate permit on the back. In addition, some copies were addressed and mailed to people on the mailing list.
