Avalon Ballroom 9/1-3/67
This gorgeous image was designed by Stanley Mouse and Alton Kelley for a three-day Miller Blues Band appearance at the Avalon Ballroom in September 1967.
The original poster was printed on uncoated index stock and measures approximately 14″ x 20″. The color is a dark blue that matches the postcards.
The second print poster is printed on uncoated index stock and measures approximately 14″ x 20″. This printing is much lighter in color than the originals, and by comparing the color to a postcard, the difference will be easy to spot.
Another reprint is printed on semi-glossy stock and measures approximately 14″ x 19⅞″. The blue color on this printing is similar to the original, but the difference in stock makes these easy to tell apart.
The postcard comes in three varieties, all of which measure approximately 5″ x 7″:
The Type A card has a “place stamp here” reverse.
The Type B card has a bulk rate permit on the back.
The Type C card has a bulk rate permit on the back and was mechanically addressed and sent to people on the Family Dog mailing list.
