The Cheetah, Venice, CA 7/12-14/68
Catalog No. MSC-CEE.1968.07.12
The Cheetah Club in Venice was one of the more popular of the Southern California venues and was host to many great shows, including Janis Joplin. This particular image, designed by San Andreas Fault, was used to advertise a show headlined by the Collectors. While this poster uses a rather bizarre central image of a group of women in Victorian-style bathing suits, it is visually pleasing and shows a great use of color.
The original poster was printed on white vellum and measures approximately 16" x 22".
The original handbill was printed on white stock and measures approximately 5" x 7⅝".
