The Bank, Torrance, CA 8/9-11/68
Catalog No. MSC-BNK.1968.08.09
The Bank was a small venue located in Torrance, California that hosted some top acts, but unfortunately was not in business for long. Like many clubs in the 1960s, the patrons of the Bank were continually hassled by the police. Ultimately, the club closed, but not before hosting a Grateful Dead show with a poster that pleaded to the patrons: “The Police can only close us with YOUR fear. Please help us, the music and yourself. Bring Friends to The Bank. Come clean, be safe, be happy.”
The original poster was printed on very thick yellow card stock and measures approximately 14″ x 20″.
