Wes Wilson designed this black and white poster for a weekend of blues music at the Avalon Ballroom in September 1968. John Mayall, Big Mama Mae Thornton and Black Pearl were the featured performers for this event.
The original poster was printed on uncoated index stock and measures approximately 14″ x 19⅞″.
The postcard comes in three types:
The Type A card has a “place stamp here” reverse and measures approximately 4″ x 6″.
The Type B card is a double card of FD-137 and 138. This card has a bulk rate permit and measures approximately 6″ x 9″.
The Type C card is the same as the Type B and was mechanically addressed and mailed to people on the Family Dog mailing list.
