Avalon Ballroom 6/8-11/67

This Rick Griffin design would be considered politically incorrect these days, but in the sixties it apparently was acceptable. This poster was printed twice; the first prints have a white border and the second prints have a yellow border. Interestingly, these posters were all cut unevenly and are wider at the top than the bottom. This is because the printed border around the image is not straight. If the posters were to be cut perfectly straight, they would actually appear to be crookedly cut! 

The original poster was printed on white index stock and measures approximately 14⅛″ x 20″. Original posters have a white border.

The second print poster was printed on white index stock and measures approximately 14″ x 20″. Second print posters have a yellow border.

The postcard comes in three varieties, all of which measure approximately 5″ x 7″:

The Type A card has a “place stamp here” reverse.

The Type B card has a bulk rate permit on the back.

The Type C card has a bulk rate permit on the back and was mechanically addressed and sent to people on the Family Dog mailing list.
