Fillmore Auditorium 8/22-27/67

Catalog No. BG-79

This poster is red, gold, white and purple. The central image is a circle within which the lettering for the acts appears. Above it is the human face and a pair of hands; perhaps a sorceress with a crystal ball that displays the names of the performers for this show: the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Cream, and South Side Sound System. Both this and the BG-80 poster announce appearances by Cream. Few acts were so important that Bill Graham would book them two weeks in a row. Cream was one of them. This band was among the most technically proficient performers of the period, as well as the most original and creative.

The original poster was printed on white index stock and measures approximately 14″ x 21″.

The postcard has a “place stamp here” reverse and measures approximately 4½″ x 7″.

A double postcard was also printed. This card bears the images of both BG-79 and 80 and measures approximately 4″ x 14″. This card has a bulk rate permit on the back. In addition, some copies were addressed and mailed to people on the mailing list.
