Fillmore Auditorium 6/20-25/67
Catalog No. BG-69
This poster is purple on an orange background. This central image is the face of a long-haired woman viewed in profile with her outstretched hands surrounding the lettering. Clifford Charles Seeley created this poster, which is extremely popular and very expensive because it announces the first appearance of Jimi Hendrix at The Fillmore. Hendrix may not have had top billing here, but it would not remain that way for long. Jefferson Airplane headlined the concert that also included Gabor Szabo.
The original poster was printed on white stock and measures approximately 14″ x 22″.
The postcard has a “place stamp here” back and measures approximately 4½″ x 7⅛″
A double postcard was also printed. This card bears the images of both BG-68 and 69 and measures approximately 9″ x 7⅛″. Some copies were addressed and mailed to people on the mailing list.
