Catalog No. BG-57

This poster is printed in red-orange, blue, and black. A frequently appearing characteristic of psychedelic posters was a visual pun on the names of the bands. One of the earliest examples of this is the peacock on this poster for The Byrds. Moby Grape and Andrew Staples also performed. Wes Wilson considers this one of his favorite poster designs.

The original poster was printed on white index stock and measures approximately 13¾″ x 22¼″. Original posters have a small printing flaw in the center of the “P” in “April.” This flaw appears as a small orange blob over the blue background near the center of the letter.

The second print poster was printed on white index stock and measures approximately 13⅞″ x 22¼″. The printing flaw described above was fixed and instead appears as a narrow orange line.

The original postcard comes in three varieties, all of which measure approximately 5″ x 8″. These cards have a West Coast Litho credit on the back.

The Type A card has a “place stamp here” reverse.

The Type B card has a bulk rate permit on the back.

The Type C card has a bulk rate permit on the back, and was addressed and sent to people on the mailing list.

The reprint postcard measures approximately 5″ x 8″ and has a Creative Litho credit on the back.
