Known as the Trans Continental Pop Festival (or “Festival Express”), this  series of concerts were slated to be held at various Canadian venues during late June and early July 1970.The lineup at these shows was nothing less than extraordinary, and included Janis Joplin, The Grateful Dead, The Band and many others. This event was immortalized in the film named “Festival Express,” where Janis presented the promoters with an array of gifts at the end of the tour — including a signed toy train and a case of tequila.

The tour originally was comprised of five stops, however the first and last were cancelled. Posters and handbills exist for the threes stops in Toronto, Winnipeg and Calgary.

The original poster was printed on thin white stock and measures approximately 17″ x 22″.
