Fillmore Auditorium 12/2-4/66

The BG-40 poster was designed by Wes Wilson. The first print comes in two colors: an olive green, and a much scarcer, yellow version. Because these posters were printed on larger paper than many of the other pieces from The Fillmore, they usually exhibit extensive damage to the upper edge where they stick out of poster sleeves and portfolio books.

There are two distinctly different original posters of this number. Each measures approximately 14″ x 23″:

The Type 1 original was printed on white stock and has a yellow background and blue image; the word “Love” appears in white.

The Type 2 original was printed on white stock and has an olive green background and blue image; the word “Love” appears in white. This type comes on two different paper stocks; one is index and one is vellum.

The second print poster was printed on white index stock and measures approximately 14″x 23⅝″. This printing has a chartreuse green background with a blue image, and the word “Love” appears in white.

The third print poster was printed on white index stock and measures approximately 14⅛″ x 23″. On this printing, the word “Love” is printed in the same color green as the background.

The original handbill measures approximately 4″ x 7⅝″. The handbills come in the same two colors as the original posters, and some have been addressed and mailed to people on the mailing list. There are numerous varieties of these handbills with minor printing differences.

The postcard measures approximately 4″ x 7⅝″. There is generally a lot of blue over-inking on the front of these cards.
