Fillmore Auditorium 10/23/66

While this looks like a Wes Wilson creation, it was actually designed by John H. Myers. The poster features Gered Mankowitz's great photograph of The Yardbirds. At the time of this show, both Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck were playing lead guitar in the band, so it must have been quite a show! Country Joe & The Fish played second on the bill, and by this time the band was really coming into its own.

The original poster was printed on vellum and measures approximately 14″ x 20″. This printing has the Union logo #221 in the lower right corner.

The second print poster was printed on uncoated index stock and measures approximately 14″ x 20″. This printing has no Union logo, but adds the credit “Printing by West Coast Lithograph Co. SF” in the right margin.

The third print poster was printed on thin (.0060″) coated stock and measures approximately 14″ x 20″.

The original handbill was printed on thin white paper and measures approximately 5½″ x 8½″.

The postcard was printed on both vellum and uncoated index stock. Those printed on vellum measure approximately 4⅜″ x 7⅝″, while those on uncoated index measure approximately 4½″ x 6⅞″. In addition, some of the cards that were printed on index stock failed to get a backprint and are blank on the back.
