Continental Ballroom 8/11-12/67
Catalog No. AOR-2.342
Located in the Santa Clara, the Continental Ballroom hosted numerous shows featuring the hot acts from San Francisco. In addition, they featured many of the obscure groups that were popular in the South Bay area, such as Chocolate Watchband, Harpers Bizarre, and the Count Five. This colorful poster advertises a show by Big Brother & The Holding Company, the Charles Lloyd Quartet, Morning Glory, and Mount Rushmore. Posters and handbills from these smaller venues are quite scarce as the print runs were much shorter than the ones for the big ballrooms in San Francisco.
The original poster was printed by the Bindweed Press on white vellum and measures approximately 13″ x 18⅞″.
The original handbill was printed on white vellum and measures approximately 6" x 8".
