San Francisco State College 9/30-10/2/66

Catalog No. AOR-2.188

This three-day acid test was the last legal acid test held. It took place on September 30 and October 1-2, 1966, less than a week prior to LSD becoming illegal. It was a memorable event with the Grateful Dead headlining the shows, backed up by Mimi Farina, Congress of Wonders, The Only Alternative, and others. Ken Kesey was walking around the campus, despite the fact that he was a fugitive who had been living in Mexico. The Dead played in the ballroom and Kesey broadcast on a makeshift campus radio station that the Pranksters had assembled. These posters were produced for on-campus use; only a very small quantity was printed and few have survived. There are two types of posters; one without the sticker that announces the bands and one with. We know of six posters without the sticker and only five with it.

The original poster was printed on white stock and measures approximately 22" x 14"

The original handbill was printed on white stock and measures approximately 10 ½"  x 7"
