Sokol Hall 3/4/67
Catalog No. MSC-SKL.1967.03.04
One of the earlier designs from the psychedelic era, this poster was designed by Alton Kelley and is displayed on page 68 in The Art of Rock. The date listed in The Art of Rock is incorrect and this is listed in Charles Perry's book Haight-Ashbury- A History as taking place in 1967. Featuring a classic photograph of the Charlatans, this “Wanted” poster is one of our favorite designs, and certainly achieves the effect that Kelley desired.
The original poster was printed on white stock and measures approximately 14″ x 20″.
The original handbill was printed on thin white stock and measures approximately 8″ x 11″.
