George Hunter of The Charlatans and Jerry Wainwright designed this poster, which featured performances by Bill Haley & the Comets, the Drifters and the Flamin' Groovies. The advertised shows took place at the Avalon Ballroom in August 1968.
The original poster was printed on tan stock and measures approximately 14″ x 22⅛″.
The postcard comes in three types:
The Type A card has a “place stamp here” reverse and measures approximately 4″ x 6″.
The Type B card is a double card of FD-133 and 134. This card has a bulk rate permit and measures approximately 6″ x 9″.
The Type C card is the same as the Type B and was mechanically addressed and mailed to people on the Family Dog mailing list.
