Avalon Ballroom 4/14-15/67
Catalog No. FD-57
This poster was used for a concert with The Doors and Steve Miller, and it is considered to be one of the stronger designs by Victor Moscoso. The swirling design with the faint dancing woman and electric colors certainly catches ones eye. We feel that this is one of the more overlooked and undervalued posters in the Family Dog Series—perhaps the abundance of second prints makes this look common, but we assure you it is not.
The original poster was printed on white index stock and measures approximately 13⅞″ x 20″. All originals have a small blue dot about 1″ to the left of the “1” in “1967” in the bottom margin copyright line.
The second print poster was printed on white index stock and measures approximately 14″ x 20″. The dot described under the original poster has been deleted.
The postcard comes in three varieties, all of which measure approximately 5″ x 7″.
The Type A card has a “place stamp here” reverse.
The Type B card has a bulk rate permit on the back.
The Type C card has a bulk rate permit on the back and was mechanically addressed and sent to people on the Family Dog mailing list.
