Avalon Ballroom 6/21-23/68
The FD-124 poster was designed to be die cut and folded such that the figures in the design stood up. This effect made it look as though the group of people were dancing. Because the die cut posters could barely be handled without tearing the figures, it is the only time this was done, and no doubt figures strongly in the scarcity of this poster in Mint condition.
The original poster was printed on uncoated index stock and measures approximately 14″ x 22″. These posters have the image die cut so that the figures stand out when folded. Some copies exist without the die cut.
The postcard comes in three varieties, all of which measure approximately 5″ x 7″:
The Type A card has a “place stamp here” reverse.
The Type B card has a bulk rate permit on the back.
The Type C card has a bulk rate permit on the back and was mechanically addressed and sent to people on the Family Dog mailing list.
