Fillmore West 12/31/68

This image was used for the 1968 New Year's Eve concert at The Fillmore that featured Vanilla Fudge, Richie Havens, The Youngbloods, and Cold Blood. The design, by Lee Conklin, features a cascade of bodies going through an hourglass - a veiled reference to the Vietnam War. This poster is very difficult to find in top condition and without ink rubbing.

The original poster was printed on slick, glossy-coated index stock and measures approximately 14″ x 21⅛″.

In addition, BG-152 and 153 were distributed as uncut sheets. These measure approximately 21″ x 28⅜″.

The postcard comes in two varieties, both of which measure approximately 4⅝″ x 7″:

The Type A card has a “place stamp here” reverse.

The Type B card has the words “Peace on Earth” on the back.

A double postcard was also printed that bears the images of both BG-152 and 153 and measures approximately 7″ x 9¼″. This card has either a bulk rate permit on the back or the words “Peace on Earth.” In addition, some copies were addressed and mailed to people on the mailing list.
