Fillmore Auditorium 1/6-8/67

Catalog No. BG-44

This great-looking Wes Wilson design marks the first appearance of The Doors at The Fillmore in January 1967. Also in the lineup for this two-day show were the Young Rascals and Sopwith Camel. Original posters are quite scarce, especially in top condition.

The original poster was printed on numerous, different paper stocks, and the color variation is substantial. The paper used ranged from porous index stock to vellum and varied in thickness from .0080″ to .0105″. All originals measure approximately 13¾″ x 23⅞″.

The second print poster was printed on uncoated index stock and measures approximately 13¾″ x 23¾″. The stock used for this printing is the same as that used for the BG originals from number 54 to 149.

The original handbill measures approximately 4⅝″ x 7⅞″. As with the original posters, many different paper stocks were used.

The postcard measures approximately 4⅝″ x 8″. Note that most postcards from this image were printed off register and it’s nearly impossible to find a perfect one.
