BG-248 marks the first poster that artist Norman Orr created for Bill Graham. Orr's lettering style is reminiscent of Rick Griffin's, who was one of Orr's artistic heroes. Santana was the headliner at this September 1970 show, and the band was joined by Dr. John and Luther Allison.
The original poster was printed on coated index stock and measures approximately 14″ x 21″.
The postcard has a calendar of Bill Graham events on the back and measures approximately 4⅝″ x 7″.
A double postcard was also printed. This card bears the images of both BG-248 and 249 and measures approximately 7″ x 9¼″. It has a bulk rate permit on the back. In addition, some copies were addressed and mailed to people on the mailing list.
