Catalog No. BG-222

This poster was used to promote a benefit concert for the Grateful Dead after band members were arrested in New Orleans on drug charges. This poster comes in two major varieties. The first is printed in several shades of brown on a screened brown background. On this version, the central image is a skull atop a figure wearing a cape and holding a sword. The figure has a ball and chain attached to its ankle. The second version adds red to the image and includes dozens of skulls in the background.

The original poster was printed on index stock and comes in two types. Both measure approximately 14″ x 21″.

The Type 1 original poster is printed in brownish-gray.

The Type 2 original poster is printed in brown, red, and orange.

The postcard also comes in two varieties, both of which measure approximately 4⅝″ x 7″:

The Type A card matches the Type 1 poster.
