Fillmore Auditorium 12/20-22/66

Catalog No. BG-43

Bill Graham considered this concert to be "the best gig I ever put on in my whole life."After signing Otis Redding as the headliner, Graham chose some great acts to open for him, including the Grateful Dead and Country Joe & The Fish. At the time of these shows, Redding was only 25 years old, but was often referred to as the "King of Soul."In fact, in early 1967, rock critic Jon Landau said, "Otis Redding is rock and roll."Sadly, Redding died in a plane crash at the age of 26, one month before his biggest hit, The Dock of the Bay, was released.
