Fillmore Auditorium 7/25-30/67

The central image of this stunner by Bonnie MacLean is a drawing of a human face. The feathers of a highly stylized drawing of a peacock frame the face. This poster is widely considered one of the best posters of the psychedelic era. While the colors are not electric or vibrating, they are distinctive from color use in earlier poster art, and they definitely draw the eye and command the attention the way psychedelic art does. This six-night show must have been something. The Yardbirds split the billing with The Doors; the opening acts were the James Cotton Blues Band and Richie Havens.

The original poster was printed on white index stock and measures approximately 13⅞" x 21¼". The credit “Neal, Stratford and Kerr” appears to the right of “75.”

The second print poster was printed on coated index stock and measures approximately 14″ x 21⅛″. The printer’s credit listed above does not appear on this printing.

The third poster was printed on white index stock and measures approximately 14″ x 21⅜″. This item also has no printing credit.

The postcard has a “place stamp here” reverse and measures approximately 4½″ x 7″.

A double postcard was also printed. This card bears the images of both BG-75 and 76 and measures approximately 4½″ x 14″. This card has a bulk rate permit on the back. In addition, some copies were addressed and mailed to people on the mailing list.
