Fillmore West 1/15-18/70

Catalog No. BG-212

B.B. King and Buddy Guy headlined at The Fillmore for this four-day run that also included - as an opening act - the Allman Brothers. The artist, David Singer, paid tribute to B.B. King by using his playing card motif, which has a "K"in the corners.

Due to the way that this poster, as well as the BG-213, were printed it is very common for the gold ink on the borders to appear worn or rubbed. During the printing process, it was necessary to put an agent into the ink that allowed better coverage. Unfortunately, the result was a tendency for the ink to offset onto the back of the next poster that was printed. A NM poster will display this rubbed look to some extent but will otherwise be flawless. To find a copy without the offset and rubbed look is very difficult and the poster will command a significant premium.

The original poster was printed on slick, glossy-coated index stock and measures approximately 14″ x 19⅞″.

The postcard has a calendar of Bill Graham events on the back and measures approximately 4⅝″ x 6½″.

A double postcard was also printed. This card bears the images of both BG-212 and 213 and measures approximately 6½″ x 9¼″. This card has a bulk rate permit on the back. In addition, some copies were addressed and mailed to people on the mailing list.
