Fillmore West 1/16-19/69

This Lee Conklin image hits the viewer like the pile of oozing body parts that form it. We are not sure that even Conklin knew what message he was trying to convey when he created this, but who said it had to make sense?

The original poster was printed on slick, glossy-coated index stock and measures approximately 14″ x 21″.

The postcard comes in three varieties, all of which measure approximately 4⅝″ x 7″:

The Type A card has a “place stamp here” reverse.

The Type B card has a calendar of Bill Graham events on the back.

The Type C card has a bulk rate permit on the back and was cut from a double card by the printer.

A double postcard was also printed that bears the images of both BG-156 and 157 and measures approximately 7″ x 9¼″. This card has a bulk rate permit on the back. In addition, some copies were addressed and mailed to people on the mailing list.
