Union Ballroom, University of Utah 4/12/69
Catalog No. AOR-4.156
This poster promotes the April 12, 1969 show, referred to as the “SDS Ball,” at the Union Ballroom at the University of Utah where the Grateful Dead and Spirit of Creation performed. Richard Taylor originally designed this poster, but Kenvin Lyman later reprinted it, which is the edition we have here. SDS, or the Students for a Democratic Society, was a leftist organization that rose out of the 1960s chaos. They protested the Vietnam War across college campuses, including at the University of Utah.
The reprint poster is printed on white stock and measures approximately 14½” x 25”.
