Fillmore Auditorium 11/20/66

Catalog No. AOR-2.70

This great-looking poster was used to promote a benefit for the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee in November of 1966. As both an early Grateful Dead piece and an early Fillmore item, this image is always in demand. The handbill shows up on occasion, but the poster is truly rare, with only a few known to exist. These were printed by the Berkeley Free Press and carry a union “bug” in the lower right corner area. As you can see from the photos, the bug is in a slightly different location on the poster than on the handbill.

While we have never seen a forgery of this poster or handbill, it is entirely possible that, due to the high value of these items, they exist.

The original poster was printed on white vellum and measures approximately 17½"x 22½".

The original handbill was printed on thin white stock and measures approximately 8½" x 11".
