Mt. Tamalpais Outdoor Theater, Marin County 10/8/66

Catalog No. AOR-2.325

This Mouse Studios design is one of the classics of the era. There are actually three different versions of this poster, but the one shown here is the most commonly seen version. The other two versions may be seen in “The Art of Rock” as numbers 2.326 and 2.327.

This show was held to promote the congressional campaign of antiwar candidate Phil Drath. The central image portrays Pooh and his pal, Piglet, with Pooh carrying a kilo in his arm and Piglet blowing a bit of smoke as they walk off into the sunset-a very whimsical Mouse touch.

The poster of this design had two authorized printings, and there are forgeries that appear on Ebay with some regularity. The original poster is scarce and commands a price of over $2,500, while the second print is much more affordable.

The original poster was printed on white stock and measures approximately 14″ x 20″.

The second print poster was also printed on white stock and measures approximately 14⅛″ x 20⅛″.

The original handbill was printed on thin white paper and measures approximately 8″ x 11″.
