Shrine Exposition Hall 2/23-24/68

Catalog No. AOR-3.66

This poster was designed by John Van Hamersveld’one of the people who helped form the Southern California psychedelic scene. Van Hamersveld was a founding partner in the Pinnacle Production Company, which was one of the first organizations to put on rock concerts and dances in the Los Angeles area. Most of these Pinnacle shows were held at the Shrine Auditorium and the early posters created for these shows are now highly sought after.

This image was designed for a Jefferson Airplane show in 1968. The bold graphics and colors combine to make this perhaps the most colorful of all the designs by Van Hamersveld.

The original poster was printed on white stock and measures approximately 19⅜″ x 27⅜″. First print posters have an Adprint Co. Los Angeles, Calif. credit in the lower left.

The second print poster was printed on white stock and measures approximately 19⅜″ x 27⅜″. Second print posters have a "Pinnacle/Personality Posters" credit in the lower left.

The original handbill was printed on thin white stock in brown ink and measures approximately 5″ x 8″.
