The Kaleidoscope was located in the Hollywood area at Sunset & Vine and was no doubt the premier rock venue in the LA area. The posters used at the Kaleidoscope were all produced in a round format and are unique as a series. Many of the big bands of the era such as The Grateful Dead, Canned Heat, Jefferson Airplane, James Cotton and the Doors played here.
There are two versions of this poster due to a cancellation by Buffalo Springfield at short notice. The Type 1 lists the bands as Jefferson Airplane, Canned Heat and Buffalo Springfield. The Type 2 lists the bands as Jefferson Airplane, Canned Heat and Fever Tree. Of the two posters, the Type 2 is the more commonly seen.
The original Type 1 poster was printed on white index stock and measure approximately 18" in diameter.
