Mc Mahon Stadium. Toronto 7/4&5/70
Known as the Trans Continental Pop Festival (or “Festival Express”), this concert was held at McMahon Stadium in Calgary, Alberta, Canada in July 1970. The lineup at this pair of shows was nothing less than extraordinary, and included Janis Joplin, The Grateful Dead, The Band and many others. This event was immortalized in the film named “Festival Express,” where Janis presented the promoters with an array of gifts at the end of the tour — including a signed toy train and a case of tequila.
