California Hall 12/17/66
This great-looking poster was used to promote a benefit concert for LEMAR — the organization that promoted the legalization of marijuana in the Bay Area. This poster was printed on oversized vellum sheets, and many have extensive corner and edge damage. We have seen a number of these that have been trimmed down in size. These are usually sold without mentioning the trimming, so beware of any that are too small. There is usually some ink smearing and lots of little ink spots on these posters — so much so that sometimes they have a speckled appearance.
The original poster was printed on white vellum and measures approximately 17″ x 22″. All originals have a Berkeley Free Press union bug at the bottom center.
The original handbill was printed on thin white stock and measures approximately 8″ x 11″.
