UUsed to advertise a Grateful Dead show at the Straight Theater, this poster is one of the classic images in The Art of Rock. The central image features a photograph of the Dead members surrounded by a winged being and lettering that says, “Their 1st S F Dance in 6 Months.” This poster is quite tough to find in top condition and sells for $2,800 elsewhere.
The original poster was printed on vellum and measures approximately 14″ x 20″. There is a credit in the lower left corner that reads “Printed by Double-H Press,” and there is a union logo with the number “72” just below the “H” in “Theater.”
