Eric Burdon and the Animals

EEric Burdon is probably best known as the founder of The Animals, a prominent 1960s rock band and also as the founder of War, a funk–rock band also of the late 1960s and early 1970s. As the Animals, Burdon was responsible for the vocals on such hits as House of the Rising Sun, Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood, Bring It On Home To Me, and See See Rider, as well as the unforgettable Sky Pilot. After a successful studio and touring career, the Animals broke up in 1969, although there were various reunions during the 70s and 80s. In 1969, Eric Burdon joined a new group called War. This group recorded a couple of albums, but other than the single outtakes of Spill The Wine and Tobacco Road, the group did not enjoy much commercial success. Burdon went on to a solo career in 1971 and has recorded and toured to the present day.
