TThis is another Family Dog poster with two original printings that are virtually identical. One printing of 1,500 posters was made prior to the shows, and the other run of 1,000 was printed shortly thereafter. The only reason that it is known that there were two printings is from the printer’s records. The central image is a drawing of three older fat men who appear to be singing.
The original poster is printed on vellum and measures approximately 14″ x 20″. The notation “The Bindweed Press San Francisco” appears below the “Av” in “Avalon.”
The third print poster was printed on uncoated index stock and measures approximately 14″ x 20″. The notation “No. 23-3” appears in the lower left corner.
There are two types of original handbills. Both measure approximately 8 1/2 ″ x 11″ and were printed on thin white paper.
Type A has a solid blue background.
Type B has a light blue dot screen background. In addition, the Family Dog logo is larger than on the Type A handbill.
