PPrinted in bright red and blue, this poster has a central image of the Sonoma County Court House after the 1906 earthquake. Only 1,000 of the originals were printed, making this poster tough to locate in top condition. The third print looks deceptively like the original, but there is a discernible difference in the papers these were printed on.

The original poster was printed on vellum and contains no credits other than those of the artists. There are fine blue lines separating the letters in the word “Earthquake.” This poster measures approximately 14″ x 20″.

The second print poster was printed on uncoated index stock and measures approximately 14″ x 20″. There are no blue lines separating the letters in the word “Earthquake.”

The third print poster was printed on uncoated index stock and measures approximately 14″ x 20″. This poster has letter separations like the original.

Another reprint, designated as RP-6 in Eric King’s guide, matches the characteristics of the second print except that it measures approximately 14″ x 21″.

There is a forgery with the “San Francisco Poster Co.” credit in the lower right corner.

There are two types of original handbills. Both measure approximately 8″ x 11″ and are printed on very thin paper.

Type A is printed on light blue paper in red ink.

Type B is printed on white paper in red ink.
